FAQ
What can I expect at my initial visit?
Your initial visit will usually last an hour and a half. This visit includes gathering your complete health history and performing pertinent physical exams. Throughout the visit you will have the opportunity to ask Dr. Larrow any questions.
Your journey back to health and wellness will occur in stages. At the beginning and at each step along the way, a detailed treatment plan will guide you on your path. Dr. Larrow is there to help you each step of the way, however she needs you to communicate your needs and goals.
What should I have at my initial visit?
Please have completed the patient intake form prior to your visit. It is helpful to have any medications and/or supplements that you are currently taking handy. And if you had any recent lab work done, having the results on hand will help Dr. Larrow get a better understanding of your medical health. Please do not worry if you do not have any recent lab work.
Will my insurance cover naturopathic treatments?
In California, insurance coverage of naturopathic medicine is very limited. Please contact your insurance company to determine if they will cover naturopathic treatments and then bill your insurance companies directly. Dr. Larrow will provide you with a coded service summary for you to submit your claim to your insurance company for reimbursement.
You have a right to ask your insurance companies why they do not cover naturopathic medicine and to request that they begin to cover naturopathic medicine.
Can I use Naturopathic medicine while I am on a treatment from my MD or DO?
There are possibly drug-herb and drug-nutrient interactions. Therefore it is important to let Dr. Larrow know what medications and supplements you are taking and to let your MD or DO know what supplements you are taking. Dr. Larrow will assess any possible interaction between the medications and the Naturopathic treatments.
